Circle The Wagons (Issue 90)

I began this blog site about six months ago and for those who read my articles, you know by now that my thinking and writings are not the average stuff you read elsewhere.

For example, most blog sites, newsletters, and organized watchdog groups urge you to write your Congressman about whatever is bothering you. Apparently, your Congressman pays little attention to what you and the rest of the American people, say or want. The proof is in the pudding. Obviously, things have gone from bad to worse. This is an indication that all the calls, letters and emails to Congress have amounted to zilch.

I have a different approach. Read my blog post titled “Debate & Dear John Letter.” In this post, I pose a suggested letter your Congressman should be sending to YOU. Copy it and send that to one of your Congressman. If that does not flip his bic and prompt a response, you might as well give up and stop wasting your time with him. Silence does not give consent.

Once Upon A Time We Were Free (Issue 89)

A couple of days ago I listened to the Sean Hannity interview with the Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin. When asked why she chose this political route, she replied because of her love for this country and her love of freedom. It’s the first time I have heard any candidate say those words. My achy breaky heart leaped with joy at hearing her say that.

On the other hand, I wonder if she understands the true meaning of the word. She does emanate a certain genuineness and authenticity when she speaks. If she is truly doing what she’s doing out of a love of freedom, I admire her intentions.

Our survival as a species depends upon reversing the road to socialism we are rapidly traveling down to return to individual freedom and private property ownership . . . a return to self-responsibility and self-control. We must reevaluate our thoughts, reason and logic. We must reexamine where we came from, what we are doing to ourselves, go back and reread the Ten Commandments, the Declaration of Independence, and take another look at the history of the men who fought and died for the freedom of this country during the Revolutionary War. What they thought, what they felt, what they believed, and the determination they had to achieve what they set out to do, which was to relieve themselves from an oppressive tyrannical government, headed by the King of England. They left the legacy of their accomplishments for us to have, hold and enjoy. And we have allowed ourselves to stray far from their accomplishments and intentions.

What a tragic shame.

Debates & Dear John Letter (Issue 88)

The debate last night in Oxford, Mississippi, between John McCain and Barack Obama, sounded more like a bickering session than a debate, a rehashing and squabbling over the same things we have been listening to for the past 18 months.

It was a repetition of the same abysmal mediocrity we have been hearing. McCain in his dull monotone voice, repeating the same ole rhetoric was very boring. Obama, more spiritedly energetic, kept rudely interrupting McCain and acted like he wanted to lunge at him, as Obama kept repeating the same old socialist line of taxing the rich to take care of the poor. I did not listen to entire program, but turned it off before they finished. I was so tired of listening to the same old stuff.

Out Of Gas, Out Of Money, Out Of Patience (Issue 87)

The bailout package I’ve been saying was $800 billion is $700 billion. When the news first broke, there was some confusion about it. Now there’s a lot of confusion as we listen to the principals like the Secretary of Treasury and the other guy testifying before congress, as well as members of Congress. They are asking questions and voicing opinions.

Yesterday, one member of Congress labeled the bailout financial socialism. It’s the first time I’ve heard a member of Congress use the word socialism. But calling the bail out financial socialism is misleading and has an inference socialism only refers to taking one kind of property, i.e., money. The basic premise of socialism is an opposition and rejection of ownership of private property, period.  It means the centralized government owns and controls all private property, including money.

Last night, I flipped around on all the news channels, listening to the news media talk about the bail outs. No one knows whether or not it will pass through Congress or not. Most think it will. However, a large number of American citizens are up in arms about it, calling, texting and contacting the politicians in Washington. This is a routine staging of how centralized government works.
