From time to time in my previous articles, I’ve written a bit about my experience with economics. To many of us the very word, “economics” sounds complex and intimidating. There is a language in the money world that many of us do not understand.
We read articles in magazines, books, blogs and listen to money reports via the six o’clock news. There is bull market, bear market, up-turns, down-turns. There are Keynism and Austrian schools of thought on economics. There is the Federal Reserve, central banks and community banks. There is the Euro versus the Dollar… gold, silver, paper money. And on and on about money and economics.

Rod Blagojevich, the embattled Illinois governor, holds on to his seat of power, despite all efforts to throw him out thus far.
I write about Governor Blagojevich, because to me, he’s the poster boy for politicians. He is accused of a multitude of acts, condemned by other politicians, his constituency, and the news media. My question is: what has he done that is so outrageously different from other politicians?
One of the things he’s accused of by U.S. Attorney Fitzgerald is trying to make a little money from a political appointment of an Illinois senator to fill the vacancy when Barack Obama was elected President.

Here it is – January 2009. I’ve been blogging on my very own website almost a year now and have posted over 150 articles on a variety of subjects. What a difference a year makes. This time last year, I did not know what a blog was. For months after I began writing for my blog, I did not read other blogs. I read a lot of books, newspaper articles, magazines, and listened to the TV, however, I only began reading what others wrote on blog sites a few months ago.

This week, the military officer I was married to passed away. He had a distinguished military career in the United States Air Force, and was a veteran of three wars: World War II, Korea and also Vietnam.
He was an outstanding pilot… one of those people his fellow officers described as having a natural born ability to fly. He learned to fly at age sixteen at Riddle Field in Florida. His mom and dad bought him a small piper cub airplane while he was still a teenager.
