DEAR AUNT BETTYE T; A RIFT IN IDEAS
Dear Aunt “B,”
Sadly I must disagree with you on some fundamental issues.
We grew up in the same family, but walk to a different drummer. We saw and heard things from a different view point. Nothing wrong with that, because we are all individuals and entitled to live our lives according to our own value system, free to think as we choose. However there are fundamental truths relative to fundamental issues in life, which apply equally to all of us.

So much about life in the Great Depression years of the 1930s ,growing up on a farm in Northeast Georgia centered around, growing things, creating things, conserving and preserving things, learning things, doing things and appreciating things.
Quite different from today living in a throwaway society, with so much available, we do not have to be concerned with growing things, preserving things, creating things, nor doing things. So much is just there for us. There are replacements available if we decide to throw things in the garbage.

MY LIFE AND TIMES LIVING THRU THE GREAT DEPRESION OF THE 1930s
PART TWO
I have written a few other articles about life in the Great Depression of the 1930s. Because of the increased interest at this time, I decided to write more about it.
Things have changed rather dramatically in this country in the past year. Currently, unemployment is rising at an alarming rate, stock market falling, homes being lost, food stamp lines getting longer, empty malls appearing on the horizon. Instability over money, banks folding and a host of events are causing some to think this recession is a forerunner of another Great Depression. Personally I do not know, and doubt if any-one does.

REPRINT FROM A BLOGGER FRIEND:
This article by a blogging friend is so true, funny, and entertaining. She granted permission to re-print in its entirety. It tells the story of traffic cameras in metro Atlanta, Georgia. Detailing why they were installed, the astronomical cost, the trapping of victimes, cost of fines, etc. It is an interesting article.
