THE WORD “BRAINWASHING” ENTERED THE DICTIONARY IN THE FIFTIES
Many months back I wrote an article which touched on the technique of “brainwashing.” Decided to write about it again as a result of all that is happening currently, politically and educationally.
These are events as I recall them in the fifties. The Korean war was in full force. I was married to a military officer, who was in Air-Sea Rescue flying those large banana-shaped helicoptors. He was ordered for a tour of duty in Korea, where he spent a year in air-sea rescue, frequently going behind enemy lines to rescue wounded American soldiers.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Probably there are very few people around who have not seen the “Snuggies” ad on television. Television advertising campaigns have saturated the airways with advertisement. Those soft cuddly garments one can use for warmth.
Last year, 2008, around December 1st, I ordered a set for Christmas presents. I used a debit bank card for payment at the time of ordering. A nightmare began, which continues today, this September 19, 2009, almost one year later.

So much is happening in this country nowadays, it’s as though something in outer space sprayed us with a huge Pepper Gun and everyone is running in different directions, running into each other, running over each other, running from each other, and running off at the mouth.
There is so much back-stabbing, back-biting and back-lashing rhetoric, spewing forth as if there’s diarrhea of the mouth. Headed up by a President name-calling, while names and accusations are hurdled at him. What happened to common courtesy? Civility? Propriety in behavior or Roberts Rules of Order? Despite the fact some remarks seem justified as I agree the “jack-ass” remark was, a reduction in name calling seems in order to me.
