This long hot summer, as political campaigners hawk for more campaign contributions, and their subjects gather to hear and support their candidacy, via their presence, their time and money, the more glaring it appears that the majority of Americans love and want more political government, not less.
While millions moan and groan about the state of affairs this country is now in, overloaded with rules, regulations and policies, they flock in groups to support their choice of an overlord, to dish out more of the same, while tricking themselves into thinking their actions will contribute changes for a better way of life.

This morning I received one of the most rewarding letters I have received to date, via email from Russell.
“Tonight, 7/22/11, I read my first AC, Issue 546.
“I agreed so much with your view of “Activists,” as you defined them, all I could do was laugh.”

I recall a number of years ago, after four years out of the country, getting on a train from Reno, Nevada, and riding cross-country alone to Atlanta, Georgia. One of my most interesting experiences. Just sitting on the train, looking out the window, passing mountains, deserts, cities, forests and crossing rivers. It was like a kaleidoscope experience that kept moving. That train ride, moving through this great and beautiful country was an experience which moved me from the depths of my inner being, after living in another country four years. I felt such deep appreciation to be an American, with love of country and love of Freedom, and so thankful to be back on American soil.

Have you ever tried to grab hold of mercury? When I was just a kid, playing around an open fireplace, I picked up a thermometer hanging on the wall nearby. I was fascinated seeing the substance inside the thermometer rise and fall. Rather than leave it on the wall to guage the rise and fall of the room temperature, in my young inquiring mind I decided to hold it close to the flame in the fireplace. The mercury inside shot up and I dropped it on the hearth and it broke.
