A few days ago, riding along Highway 400 in Forsyth County with my daughter-in-law, in her beautiful new Denali SUV, suddenly my 14 year old granddaughter, Isabella, sitting behind me, spoke up and said, “This book is boring.” She’s a voracious reader and so am I. Before her mom could respond, I reflexively asked, “What’s the name of it?” Imagine my surprise when she answered, “Animal Farm.”
Isabella, who was home-schooled by her mom before entering private schools, will be attending a new and different school in a different town from last year, when the new school term begins shortly.

PART FOUR
In this fourth and probably last of my article series relative to the Aurora, Colorado mass murder spree by James Holmes. Not a subject I like writing about. However because I so sincerely believe his displayed behavior has its roots in the school system, and because bullying is so pervasive in schools, at grade and college levels, it’s important parents get this, if they are loving, caring and concerned parents, and I think most are.
A couple of days ago we saw the Colorado shooter for the first time on TV, when he appeared in court. He looked so strange, with his bushy orange hair, burgundy jumpsuit, with a wild-eyed expression. But never uttered a word.

My decision to write a series of articles on the current news story about the Colorado theater killing spree by a 24 year old college student, was prompted by so many asking Why?
Everyone has an opinion about the event, and a lot of curiosity about the background of the perpetrator, James Holmes. Where did he come from? Who are his parents? What has he been doing in the 24 years of his life? Who are his friends? What’s his educational background? Does he have a criminal record? and etc.

PART TWO
On this fourth day after the Colorado rampage of a 24-year old mass murderer, the news is still pretty much dominated by all of it. Yesterday James Holmes appeared on television as he sat in a courtroom for his first appearance with his lawyer, and never uttered a word. Looking rather weird in his bushy orange hair, and a sort of wild-eyed appearance, he looked dazed as though he had not slept, and appeared disoriented.
The local police chief, Oates, announced in a televised appearance he was quite angry, after discovering the booby-trapped apartment, which might have killed any policemen upon opening the door, had they not known it was booby-trapped.
