Yesterday, Sunday morning, I got up quite early, with a list of things to do. Looking out my window over my computor, I saw a squirrel busy eating away at the pecans in a huge towering tree that extends over the my rooftop. I went to the front door, and saw my driveway was filled with pecan hulls, and wondered if the squirrel had been up all night feasting on the pecans. I couldn’t believe one little squirrel had eaten so many pecans. Then I watched as he dug holes, burying some of the pecans for winter.

PART THREE OF THIS SERIES
A PERSIAN PROVERB: “He who knows not, and knows not that he knows not, is a fool – shun him. He who knows not, and knows that he knows not, is a child, teach him. He who knows and knows not that he knows – is asleep, wake him. He who knows and knows that he knows is wise, follow him.”
One of my favorite quotations, and I’m reflecting upon that quotation while writing these articles from the book “Witness” by Whitaker Chambers, who was a communist and defected, and testified in the congressional hearings, exposing the communists in seats of government. I suggest reading the book, because he knew – listen to him.

PART TWO
From Leaves of Gold: “Sow a thought, reap an act, sow an act, reap a habit, sow a habit, reap a character, sew a character, reap a destiny.”
Back in the early part of the twentieth century, we were still a relatively young nation, some living in cities but most living on farms. A country of citizens living their lives enjoying Freedom in this country. But there have always been those who wanted power to rule over others. We were told from the beginning of this nation, Freedom requires eternal viligance. Slack in that vigilance began manifesting itself as a progressive movement of power seekers began their erosion of Individual Freedom.

I have just taken a month sabbatical away from writing. Spending my time with Prince William, and our little garden, reading, resting, artwork, trips back into Atlanta, shopping, playing and into a pastime of Southerners, i.e., just getting in staring time.
In the past two years, I’ve posted nearly 400 lengthy articles on the internet, covering a wide variety of subjects. As my readers know by now, I’m not very savvy when it comes to anything mechanical, electrical or electronic, and have trouble operating a can opener. All I do is write, and others take care of anything relative to my website. In this connection, I recently asked the web manager for a print-out of activity on Octogenariansblog.com.
