Yesterday, I like millions of others, was glued to the television watching the story about the flying saucer balloon in the air unfold, thinking there was the possibility of a little six year old boy in the balloon. One of the most bizarre events I have ever seen.
It was over an hour unfolding, while various agencies tried to figure out what to do. And all took place on live television. No one knew where nor when it would land. I wanted to reach in the tv, grab the string and pull it down and rescue the little boy.

On a regular basis there is an outbreak of propaganda from politicians and drug companies and others into fear-mongering, yelling about one disease or another, coming from birds, pigs and cows. The news media grabs hold of the panic and runs with it.
Being informed is a good thing, but being indoctrinated with hype and propaganda monkeys with reason and rationale. It is scary when we imagine something is threatening the well-being of our children. And those who operate the propoganda mills very well know this; the latest being the swine flu scare and an all out campaign to shoot up innocent children with this new vaccine just out on the market.

That’s mine!! A small child yells, when another grabs a toy out of its hands.
Why is so much of the money I have earned taken out of my weekly paycheck, the worker asks, when he opens his weekly paycheck, and seeing his salary drop from $600 to $325, after all the deductions. Taxes, taxes, where does it go?
Last week a lady knocked on my door looking for a job house cleaning. I invited her in and interviewed her. She appeared in excellent health, but said she drew a disability check plus food stamps from the government. Lives with her daughter, a single parent with one child, and they too receive government doles and food stamp vouchers.

I’m one of those persons blessed with good health most of my life. Growing up with a mother who repeated like a mantra, “Be your own doctor, your own banker, own preacher, and own counselor,” I developed a do it yourself mentality relative to many areas of my life.
However many things I cannot do for myself and must rely on others. I’m so non-mechanical, and have difficulty dealing with anything electronic or mechanical, have trouble operating a can opener. I struggle with operating a computor and anything out of the simplest task, I call a technician.
