Yesterday, I like millions of others, was glued to the television watching the story about the flying saucer balloon in the air unfold, thinking there was the possibility of a little six year old boy in the balloon. One of the most bizarre events I have ever seen.
It was over an hour unfolding, while various agencies tried to figure out what to do. And all took place on live television. No one knew where nor when it would land. I wanted to reach in the tv, grab the string and pull it down and rescue the little boy.

IT’S that time of year again, and my favorite season of the year.
Here in North Georgia, despite a lot of rain, we are having some magnificent weather. And because of the rain, everything looks lush and green, just before the leaves start turning all the beautiful colors.
Every year, this is a part of the country that has a number of annual Fall Festivals. Dahlonega has Gold Rush days. In the little Alpine village of Helen, Georgia, they celebrate a week-long fall festival. Further north near the North Carolina and Tennessee border huge annual fall festivals are held in several towns.

The last few days in the news cycle, the news has been dominated by President Obama’s receipt of the Nobel Peace Prize. According to news reports his name had been secretly submitted, by someone undisclosed just ten days after he entered office as President of the United States.
The question everyone is asking is what has he done or accomplished which makes him eligible to receive this prestigious award accompanied by one million dollars? Apparently there are five catagories of awards each year, the Peace prize being one of them, left in the will of Nobel, who discovered dynamite. The committee meets in secret to decide who the recipients will be.

This August 2009 has been a month with a lot of news coming from all directions. The propaganda machines have been working over-time, with double-think, double talk; twisting the language to suit the schemes of those who are out to destroy this Nation and that which it once stood for – individual Freedom and personal property Rights.
For many years there was a great journalist, Jack Anderson, who wrote about goings on in Washington. His motto was: “I don’t cover the news, I un-cover it.” I’m encouraged to know there are a few, currently on TV and writing books, who uncover the diabolical schemes of those in power to destroy life as we once knew it in this country.
