in the Eyes (Issue 146).”

George Ohsawa, who brought macrobiotics over from Japan, wrote an
excellent book on the subject called, *You Are All San Paku*. It is
easily explained when you understand the concept of Yin (pronounced Yeen)
and Yang (pronounced Yong). Every food has different qualities and some
cause cells to contract while others cause cells to expand. For
example…a baked potato causes cells to contract more so than a
strawberry because the liquid has been cooked out of the potato, while the
strawberry still has it’s original water content- just as a sponge- a cell
absorbs water. A cracker, however, is more contractive than a baked
potato because it is virtually devoid of water.

A diet high in expansive foods (sugars, fruits, liquids, pharmaceuticals)
over a lengthy period of time likewise cause expansion in the cells and
may affect the orbs (eyes) by causing expansion. This imbalanced diet of
mostly yin foods makes the person unstable mentally and physically. There
are foods that are more balancing like whole grains and vegetables, but
once you eat something yang, like meat, your body wants to balance it with
something yin, like a potato, or a drink. This is why cigarettes and
alcohol go together. Smoking causes contraction and alcohol causes
expansion…starting to understand this?

I am noticing more vegetarians and vegans with this condition and it is
primarily because their diets contain a lack of contractive foods. It is
practically deadly to go vegetarian and keep sugar in your diet. This will
definitely cause you to go off balance. TOO YIN. There are ways to balance
this – adding more sea salt to your diet- going into the sun on occasion-
exercising, etc.

In general it is said that someone with this condition will die an early,
tragic death, so it is wise to try and correct this. One way would be to
at least study the macrobiotic understanding of Yin/Yang so that one may
be able to balance his/her diet and activity to correct this condition. I
have theory to believe that polarity imbalance (becoming homosexual or
bisexual) is also caused by dietary imbalance in the parent or individual.
It’s pretty interesting.

Cheers! :)

TO READER VALERIE SPINNER

Because your article was so enlightening and interesting, I decided to post as an article for others to read. I have over 300 articles published in last couple of years and yours is the first I have posted as an article.

Despite the fact my article on San-Paku was published several months back, I still receive comments and e-mails about it. Some ask questions and want to know more. I recall one young man from India wrote inquiring about the condition reflected in one’s eyes.

I appreciate your expressions about the Expansion and Contractions in the body. The entire universe pretty much operates on this Principle.

Yes, most likely everyone has the symptom to some degree, because I daresay nearly all if not all have some degree of disharmony in their system, either structurally, emotionally, mentally, physically or otherwise and the rolling upwards revealing 3 whites of the eyes is symptomatic of that. It’s not a disease but a symptom of a condition, something in the body is out of sync.

But I notice it is increasingly pervasive, particularly noticeable on some persons appearing on television. I can’t help but shiver a bit everytime I see it. To me it’s almost like the body is shouting out something is wrong and out of harmony in my body, and saying can’t you see it in my eyes?

For a number of years I did nutritional counseling for cancer patients and at the same time did Reflexology. There were some San-Paku after changing their eating habits and following a regimen of metabolic ecology, and having Reflexology treatment, no longer showed signs of San-Paku. Without drugs or surgery, balancing one’s body chemistry caused very positive results. Therefore I know from personal experience the condition is treatable, just by changing one’s nutritional and living habits, in most cases.

I want to thank you for reading my article and taking the time to write an interesting and informative response.

REGARDS,

THE FREEDOM LADY
