FIRST IN A SERIES: DRIVING – LICENSE TAG – PERMITS – INSURANCE – YOUR VEHICLE, POWER OF POLITICAL GOVERNMENT TO CONFISCATE
I have written hundreds of articles about individual Freedom and personal property Rights versus the power of political government to ursurp those inalienable God-Given Rights. With the stroke of a pen, by a loaded gun or the threat of a gun, with the speed of swiping your debit card, those rights can be denied, in the twinkling of an eye.
The denial of those Rights, in no way, shape, form or fashion, diminishes those Rights of Universal Laws, they simply impede by the force of political government. Ones’ Rights to Life, Liberty and Property, exist in the natural order of things. They are not government grants, but can be taken away by the armed force of government.
The many articles I have written relative to The Philosophy of Freedom, are based upon the Principles of that Philosophy. This series is based upon those principles, along with my value judgements, relative to personal experiences.
My driving record and experiences extend over 50 years. I have driven across this country and in foreign countries and have no moving violations on my record. I have never received a parking ticket. I’m a good driver, and yet the government cancelled my driver’s license three years ago, took my car tag and confiscated my vehicle.
I’m going to write the story of how it all happened. The reader is probably thinking that I must have done something wrong. No, the wrong was done to me, not by me, which I will explain, and have documentation to support.
Several years back, when I applied to renew my driver’s license, the Department of Motor Vehicles here in the State of Georgia, made a typographical error in my birthdate by mistaking a four in my birthdate as a nine. Which appeared as my age being five years younger than my actual age.
With each renewal this same error in my actual birthdate appeared. So what? Made no difference to me what they entered as my birthdate. This is a record they required, and a mistake they made.
Then President Bush signed into law “The Patriot Act,” which according to some, required ones’ birth date to match Social Security birthdate records. As I understand it, states received special federal funding if they required citizens to furnish proof of matching dates.
I received an “official notice” March 6, 2006, from Georgia Department of Drivers Services (DDS), stating they had partnered with the Social Security Administration, and during the verification process, they were unable to match my date of birth to my social security records.
They stated a certified birth certificate or a military ID card is required as proof of identity. I was born at home and have no birth certificate. I spent over twenty years as a military wife and have military records and military ID.
I visited the local motor vehicle office and they would not accept military ID because it had expired. They told me to go to the Social Security Office. I went to SS office and obtained a copy of their records which showed the correct date of birth issued in1941, but DDS refused to accept those records and told me I had to “create” a birth certificate. Which I have never done.
The official notice stated, signed by Alan Watson, Director of Licensing and Records, “DDS apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. It is our goal to provide a secure form of identification in a customer friendly manner, for your protection. If there is not a resolution to the outstanding issue before July 4th, 2006, your license permit or identification card will be placed in a cancelled status.”
Therefore my driver’s license was cancelled and I have been prevented from driving since that time.
I wrote many letters to various government employees and departments, including the Governor’s Office and DDS. Plus numerous trips to local driver’s licensing offices and to Social Security. And they have refused to remove the cancellation.
I applied for and received a social security card while still in high school. As I recall, anytime I needed a birth certificate for anything, my parents signed an affidavit of date of birth, from family Bible records. I never encountered any problems with date of birth, even with government military records. The social security card was accepted with the correct date of birth.
The State of Georgia has this fixated government rule one must furnish a birth certificate, even if it has to be “created.”
As stated in the official notice, the requirement was a match with SS records, so my presentation of their record of birth date was refused. Secondly, my presentation of a military ID card was disallowed, as stated in the original notice.
I have a thick file of correspondence with the state, documenting my efforts to have my license reinstated, to no avail.
Recently the license date expired, which would mean a driving test if ever the cancellation was removed, which appears unlikely.
After the cancellation, I parked my vehicle back of my residence. Despite the fact I was not driving, still retained the required insurance, until a visit from local marshalls office confiscated it (which I will detail in my next article), because the tag expired.
It’s my position that we as citizens of this country have a Right to Travel. However, because the highways are controlled by the political government, they have the power to decide who does and does not have the privilege to drive a vehicle on the streets. It’s the violation of a “Right,” however, by a gun or threat of a gun, to place one behind bars.
This is the first in a series of articles I’m writing, relative to the subject. The next article will describe how my vehicle was confiscated by a written threat of jail or fines or both.
Note in my quote from DDS, it states, “For your protection—.” The absurdity of the claim that the cancellation of my driver’s license, because of an error they made on my birthdate, is for my protection, is a glaring example of the insane irrationale of political bureaucratic boondoggling.
Quote from Charles W. Moore, “If the political-correctness FASCISTS, get their way, we can safely assume it will be correct-thinking, “political cleansing” squads deciding what we can or cannot say on the internet. These people fear public debate and demand homogenization of “acceptable attitudes with their emotional, utopian idealism.”
