“SOW A THOUGHT, REAP AN ACT, SOW AN ACT, REAP A HABIT, SOW A HABIT, REAP A CHARACTER, SOW A CHARACTER, REAP A DESTINY” (Issue 232)

ABOUT SARAH PALIN, GOVERNOR OF ALASKA

Yesterday we heard a speech by Governor Sarah Palin, resigning from her political role as Governor of Alaska. The best speech I have ever heard a politician make.

A coupla weeks ago I wrote an article about the mean-spirited abuse David Letterman heaped upon her on a nationally televised tv program. All along I have viewed her as a good and decent person, entangled in roles of political power. In several articles I have mentioned, she’s the only presidential candidate last year that I heard mention the word Freedom.

Her resignation points up the claim I have been making all along: That is, one cannot go into a secret ballot booth and vote for one believed to be a good, decent and moral person, and expect them to change the status quo. Simply because the system is an immoral system of thievery.

Millions of Americans, unemployed and over-taxed, are frustrated and upset over current conditions and the direction we are going in this country. And these same Americans think they can change things for the better, if they can only vote into power over their lives, good and decent human beings who will change things into a good, decent and moral system. It will never happen. The system itself changes those few who are elected with those traits of good and decent moral charactor, if they remain in it.

They do not change the system, the system changes them.

On this fourth of July, as we celebrate the Declaration of Independence, much has changed, and conditions have worsened since the last Independence Day. There is a reason for that, it did not just happen. We keep doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. The different results we experience are things going from bad to worse. Therefore we must be doing something wrong. What is it?

Every hour on the hour, in rapid fire succession, news reports are difficult to keep up with. In my opinion, the resigination of Sara Palin from a major political office is without a doubt one of the biggest news stories in a long time. It points up the fact that a very decent, family loving, Freedom loving individual cannot hold a political office, without being subjected to constant harrassment and abusive criticism, and powerless to change things as they are.

Hers is a path well worth close attention and scrutiny – an example others could follow.

Last September, I posted an article, Issue 88, titled “Debates & Dear John Letter.” The letter is one I formulated to send to the 500-plus representatives in congress, calling for their resignation. I’m reprinting it. For those readers who missed it, I hope you read it.

I’d love to see every politician resign from office! Or be removed. This is a job for the National Recall Coordinating Committees. I’ll go read your reprint now.
