STATUE OF LIBERTY: IS THE TEA PARTY MOVEMENT THE CRUCIBLE TO HER SYMBOLISM? (Issue 366)

SECOND IN SERIES – APRIL 18, 2010

IN A SPEECH LAST WEEK, PRESIDENT OBAMA SAID: TEA PARTY SHOULD BE THANKING HIM!!!

In my first article I gave a brief history and some of the statistics relative to the Statue of Liberty. One of the great monuments to Freedom of the people in this country. A symbol among other monuments, such as the cracked iron Liberty Bell.

Because this is the year a line has been drawn in the sand between political government and the people, it’s a time to reflect upon the history of this Country. Where we came from, and how we arrived at this place in history. The original settlers came out of a life of bondage, fought the Revolutionary War, to free themselves from the chains of an English ruler and won a war, which established their Rights to be free individuals. Out of this battle established a free market system of voluntary exchange of goods and services.

A way of life this country thrived on for a number of years, exercising self-responsibility and enjoying private ownership of property.

We must go back and remind ourselves and re-educate ourselves about the Principles upon which this way of life was created. Because the past several generations have not been taught the history of the making of this Nation, most are unfamiliar with its history.

In the fifty States half the taxes collected is spent on the government- owned and operated socialistic schools. The tax supported schools are a system of socialism, therefore the basic tenets of the Socialist philosophy is taught, not the Philosophy of freedom. Consequently, the truth about the history of this country has been deleted or twisted. Ask any public school student what they know about the Statue of Liberty, and listen carefully to their ignorance about it.

The Principles upon which this country was founded were based upon such great moral guides as the Ten Commandments and expressed in the Declaration of Independence. But we have long since departed from these great moral guides and wound up in bondage, being close to a totalitarian State.

We have graduated from years of creeping socialism to our current plight of leaping socialism. This year, out of the ashes of Freedom appeared the “Tea Party” movement. Rapidly growing in strength, as more and more Americans awaken to their chains of bondage, and recognition of loss of individual Freedom and personal property Rights.

I remind the reader, Socialism in all its various forms and different names like Fascist, Communism, Progressives, Liberals and etc. is a mindset that rejects ownership of private property. With all the complicated rhetoric, it all boils down to rejection of private ownership. That’s just the simple, easy-to-understand fact. A centralized government takes property, and makes all the rules and regulations, with laws and edicts to re-distribute your property. Your money is your property.

All those denying and yelping we are not living in a a Socialized system are ignorant and indoctrinated, or they know what it is and lying about it.

Apparently we have moved so fast and gone so far into a totalitarian State, finally the Spirit has moved the impulse of the American people, and we are in the beginning stage of the throes of the battle to return this country back to its original purpose and way of life.

The powers that be have overtly and covertly made great inroads into the destruction of individual Freedom and the dismantling of private property ownership, therefore a battle is now set in motion. And the apathetic attitude of the citizenry listening to months and years of charismatic political speeches, has turned the other cheek, as evidenced by non-acceptance of such remarks President Obama made last week, in a speech when he said the Tea Party Participants should be thanking him. Followed by a remark from ex-President Clinton, who said, “Don’t demonize government.”

I suggest the Tea Party Movement is the Crucible. A crucible being a severely-trying test or experience. A heat-resistant vessel for melting metals or minerals. The movement is a heated resistance to the onslaught of take-over by a centralized power structure.

The people have not demonized government as President Clinton suggests. Those in government have demonized government and destroyed the principles upon which this country was founded and socialized a Republic.

Those who understand Freedom, believe in government – self government. Some believe in a limited form of political government. The question is, who is going to limit it?

This country was founded and thrived for a time on Law. The natural laws, that man has an unalienable Right to be Free. And if it is a natural law, men are born to be free, nature always has its way.

As this country once flourished, the world watched and wondered. Until this age appeared, no country had ever offered this kind of unique living, where the rank and file governed themselves. A new experience in freedom of expression, in work and worship. As Freedom and self-governing took hold, the creativity and genius of the American Spirit reached heights unimaginable before it all began.

A quote from Ludwig Von Mises who wrote “Human Action” states, “The first thing a genius needs is to breathe free air.”

In 1752, Baron de Montesquieu, in “The Spirit of the Laws” wrote, “The deterioration of every government begins with the decay of the Principles upon which it was founded.”

In a nutshell, the deteriorated state this country is now in, is a result of the decay of the Principles upon which it was founded.
