The news media cycle is working overtime with all the buzz and spin over President-Elect Obama’s appointments.
During his campaign he repetitiously said, “change we can believe in” and spoke of how he was going to “change the culture” in Washington. The first thing he did was appoint someone right down the street from the White House and changed his job by moving him in the White House.
Then he quickly began filling slots with all those who had been in Bill Clinton’s regime as President—all Clinton’s cabinet members, staffers and deputies like Bill Richardson, Rahm Emanuel, Tom Dashle, Eric Holder, and topping the list is Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State.

Every day we hear a different word headlining the news. Since President Bill Clinton made news headlines with the word “is” by saying, “depends upon the meaning of is”, simple everyday words have become headlines with the meaning lines blurred.
For example, “seamless” is the latest ordinary word tossed around by the U.S. President, U.S. Secretary of Treasury, top newscasters, pundits, bloggers and children.
If you go to the dictionary to check out ordinary everyday words, you might be surprised. The word “seam” can have two opposing meanings. It can mean to separate or to unite. The formal definitions of “seam” are, “A visible line of juncture between two parts. A wrinkle, a scar, a thin stratum in a rock. To crack open; to unite. To mark with a cut or a furrow. To stitch together.” Accordingly, if these are definitions of the word “seam”, then “seamless” means no seam. No visible line of demarcation, no crack, no cut, no furrow, no scar, no wrinkle, no boundary.
The word “seam” has been used by the top power brokers in relation to the economy and transference of power and money. The word is coupled with transition. “Seamless transition” is the latest buzz phrase. After Congress passed the $700 billion bill to hand over, in one large bag of money to Mr. Paulson with no oversight, a la carte, he referred to it as a “seamless transition.”

This week, President Bush emerged from the G-20 Summit after meeting with representatives from other countries, and walked to the microphones to deliver some very brief remarks about the meeting.
He stated he had always believed in the free market, free enterprising, capitalistic system, “but” after hearing we may be on the verge of another depression like in the 30s, he mumbled something else, quickly turned and said “goodbye”, and made a fast exit.
He hit and ran after giving us the most important news in his eight years as President of the United States. News that impacts all our lives, and sad news none of us are exempt from.

Yesterday, President Bush emerged from the International Summit of 20 nations saying that in essence, he was for the free market capitalistic system, BUT, when faced with a depression like in the 30s, he mumbled something about what he was faced to do.
He spoke of the problems faced in a global economy, the success of the Summit and plans for meetings of more of the same. I can’t quote him verbatim, but from what I gathered, he’s trying to tell us his concerns about what is happening in other countries with no specifics about what is happening to individuals in this country such as our eroding private ownership of property rights and individual freedom. It’s all about what the world wants and needs. It sounded like a preamble to a One World government to me.
