OSCAR NIGHT IN HOLLYWOOD. PAST & PRESENT GLITZ & GLAMOUR TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE – COTILLIAN DANCE – MOVIES (Issue 357

ELEVENTH COMMANDMENT: “DONT BORE ME”

Yesterday went into Atlanta to see a restaurant my son just purchased. I moved away from Atlanta four years ago but always enjoy going back. I miss going to the fabulous Fox theatre.

The restaurant my son acquired is going to be an interesting venture in renovation. I was reminded of the times in the past when I wanted to own and operate a restaurant. My life has been interesting and I have traveled and done many things, including work in the movies. But the two things I always wanted to do and never did was own a limousine company and a restaurant.

CHRISTMAS & LIFE THROUGH THE EYES OF 4-YEAR OLD PRINCE WILLIAM (ISSUE 313)

In my last article I wrote about the Phipps Plaza visit of Prince William to see Santa Claus. At that time he told Santa he wanted a couch and ottoman for Christmas. Santa said that was a first for him. But Will had just had his bedroom redecorated and wanted it for his bedroom.

I have learned as off-the-wall as some of the things he says may seem at the moment, when I understand his thinking on anything, I’m impressed with his logic at 4-years old. Particularly impressive is his solution to whatever problem comes to mind.

GOBBLE GOBBLE, HO-HO & HO-HUM, DOODLEY SQUAT & FAMILY FUN – PRINCE WILLIAM (ISSUE 311)

Another Thanksgiving Day Came and Went

“Over the hills and through the woods, to grandmother’s house we go.” That’s what we used to sing, growing up on a farm in northeast Georgia during the depression years. Major holidays meant getting together with a large family gathering at grandparents’ country home, particularly on Thanksgiving Day.

A large harvest table would be laden with farm-fresh country dishes, cakes, pies, casseroles, vegetables, turkey and ham. Back then, moms and grandmoms were stay-at-home and spent days before preparing the feast. The food was wonderful, but the gathering of family, and conversation and playtime was part of the joy of the holiday.

SPENT SUNDAY, NOVEMBER FIRST, W/PRINCE WILLIAM – LEFT SINGING: BEST DAY I EVER HAD!! (ISSUE 298)

Prince William called Sunday morning before coming to ask if it was ok to bring his clay-dough set. He arrived before noon and stayed until around 8 pm.

Here are some of the things we did: We have created a new card game called Doodley Squat! Deal 7 cards to each, and the first one who gets 4 of a kind 3 times wins. Will grabs my cards to meet his quota to win. I named the game Doodley Squat, because I always wind up with nothing and him yelling “I win!”
