The Crises We Face In The War Of Ideas (Issue 59)

This great country we live in, just over 200 years old, has weathered a number of perilous times. We began with the Revolutionary War fought to free the people from an oppressive ruling king of England, then the Civil War, two World Wars, Vietnam, Korea, and now Iraq. We’ve experienced tragedies like 911, extreme and destructive weather conditions, major fires, economic downturns, and much more.

Government Pickpocketing (Issue 50)

I had not been to the grocery store in about two weeks. When I went yesterday, I was shocked to see such a rise in prices in such a short time. Never in my lifetime have I seen grocery  prices jump so rapidly. At the soup shelf, several others of my generation were just standing and staring at the cans of soup.

One lady starring at the chicken noodle soup said,  “I hate to pay these prices, but my husband loves chicken noodle soup so guess I’ll get him a can.”

With Dole Comes Control (Issue 46)

During the entire year of 2007, we kept hearing predictions that 2008 would be a year of recession. Well dear hearts and gentle people, it’s here.

Yesterday I heard on the news that Alan Greenspan had declared we are in a recession.  That’s not idle chatter or hearsay. He is a very smart economist. If he says it, in my opinion, that confirms it.

Now predictions are surfacing that in 2009 we will be in a depression. Having lived through the Great Depression, I can report first hand, that’s when the rubber really does hit the road.
