George Ohsawa, who brought macrobiotics over from Japan, wrote an
excellent book on the subject called, *You Are All San Paku*. It is
easily explained when you understand the concept of Yin (pronounced Yeen)
and Yang (pronounced Yong). Every food has different qualities and some
cause cells to contract while others cause cells to expand. For
example…a baked potato causes cells to contract more so than a
strawberry because the liquid has been cooked out of the potato, while the
strawberry still has it’s original water content- just as a sponge- a cell
absorbs water. A cracker, however, is more contractive than a baked
potato because it is virtually devoid of water.

SECOND IN THIS SERIES ON HEALTH AND HEALING
Before I begin this second series, I wish to announce that today, I received a notice from my New York Editor, saying I will be featured in an article in AARP magazine. This is an organization with over 30 million members, and as I understand it, the largest organization in the world. Scheduled to appear in March-April issue, it will be “Insight from Anne.” So to my readers – mark your calendar and be sure and obtain a copy.
My last feature article in storyofmylife.com, generated over 40,000 visitors the first week. I think it’s still running on that blog-site.
