FOURTH IN THIS SERIES: MY AMERICA – I WANT YOU BACK – THE BATTLE PLAN & TEA PARTY MOVEMENT
I have before me a copy of The Tea Party “Contract from America,” which states 365,000 respondents completed online forms to determine the top three planks of the tea party movement platform.
That’s an impressive number of people stepping forward with concerns about the conditions and direction this nation currently faces. And encouraging to know that many individuals realize it’s time to make changes.
When I first heard about the Tea Party Movement, and a large number rising up to protest the happenings in Washington, I thought, great idea, the American people are awakening to what is happening in this “transformation of America” mantra.
Then I received a copy of an article titled, “Tea Party unveils Contract from America Planks.” A proposal which had 80.7 approval in a survey. The article went on to say, the ultimate objective of the tea party movement is to influence the outcome of the mid-term elections the way the Contract with America did in 1994. Which suggests the solution to the problem is, we can vote our way out of the mess we voted ourselves into.

The Statue of Liberty, standing tall and proud in New York Harbor, like a welcome mat for the “tired and huddled masses,” represents a symbol for freedom. It was the vision and work of two men from France: Laboulaye, and Frederic Auguste Bartholdi. One of these men, a young handsome Alsatian, was the sculptor who created the Statue of Liberty. And the story of their lives and their work in its creation is a fascinating one.
